A man in Kerala’s North 24 Parganas district has died of pneumonia, leaving behind a wife and three children, a district government official said.
The man, a resident of the village of Mysore, had suffered from pneumonia in the past, and his condition worsened on Tuesday morning, said Rajendra Rajapaksa, head of the district administration.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A relative told the daily Dharmesh, the man was a teacher, who had taught at the village’s primary school for the past five years.
The school, however, was shut down earlier this year.
